It would be unfair to ask Prof. Nicholas Farrelly whether he knows about what khun Thongchai Winichakul uttered most of the time (=65% of the time). However it is obvious that the people of Wisconsin, the State, and the University have taken generous care of him; he is obese! And the fact of his obesity is more true than most of the historical facts he talked about. The U of Wisconsin is well-kown for mind-body mindfulness holistic healing which contributes to obesity cure, just go to the University health centre. Khun Tongchai isn’t aware of this info close at hand, the proof? His obesity. The University and the people of Wisconsin should fire him and replace him with myself, who will work for FREE, and I’m not fat. I think my comment isn’t a sort of “Lese majeste” to the legal person or the juristic personality or, in Latin, persona ficta of Khun Thongchai, which I understand that Wisconsin jurisdiction doesn’t cover southern Thailand where I live.

Ps: I looked up those legal terms in Wiki.

here is my comment with concluding remarks:

 Watching Thongchai Winichakul’s high quality ranting and original unimaginative point-scoring was a time-wasting error that’d taught me to hold my breath for whatever will be, will be, from video number 6: Thailand’s Future. But it turned out to be “nettement supérieure,” did it really?

Stressors thrown into the session by the moderator: inequality at 0614, terrorist at 0955, participation in politics at 2136, future life at 2540, failed to produce any stresses among the Thai guests. Was it a result of mindful meditation practice or just a plain disregard of impertinent curiosity?

On the other hand, their contributions evolved around familiar mediatique trivialities. The banality of their remarks put me to sleep three times. It raised the mandala (that is, the show) to state-of-the-art dull gossip. Such thing does exist. But, I reveled in the three experts’ good English which is far better than mine and that of my generation of old mandala (here, it means nothing). Another thing delighted me, and it was sublime: their cynical optimism. However, when compared their language command to the disastrous English of Prof. Thongchai Winichakul, he enjoys no benefit of doubt here – please click http://youtu.be/krVmgT1gycU , theirs shine like cool mandala as contrast to the obsolete, tout à fait démodé, mandala of his.

In concluding my critique of the whole program, video 1 to 6, for its overall performance, as I subscribed to Benjamin Disraeli that you cannot go higher than you think, and therefore I have chosen the following two French quotes which I can go no higher, and let them do my holistic comments on my behalf.

1st concluding remark:

my 3 short paragraphs comment:

๑. Overwhelmed by all sorts of lies in Cyberspace about politics in Thailand i.e . compulsive lies and paid lies, I breathed fresh air of truth in watching video no. 5. Thailand of all coloring should be grateful to Prof. Walker, if they still know what gratitude means. Documentary no. 5 is an accurate impression. Yes, a mere 200 baht vote buying is not the cause of un-democratic election; just as the French economic problem at the time being the only one cause of the French revolution is simplistic, if not baloney. [But, world wide Thai politics fans are…………….]

๒. But, world wide Thai politics fans are true to form: video no. 5 is the least viewed! Too many enthusiasts of Thai politics, local and international, are addicted to liars and haters if they aren’t themselves liars or haters, or both. No? Yes, I said it with good reasons. Having watched the presentation of hard facts and made my presumably wise judgement about it, I gleefully went on to check number of eyeballs: it hit the bottom 6,700 compared to the top watched video of 22,200 as at Mar 28, 2011. No surprise, bad stats belongs to it as one might expect. [Hence my reasoning must be………..]

๓. Hence my reasoning must be good. This video is the best one. Once the eyeballs count had approved my mindful judgement, I feel safe and happy to be able to humbly differentiate myself (not to say “distinguish”) from “des vaches qui commencent à penser.” Please excuse my very original French, which is a parody of Voltaire, meaning in Thai – พวกโคกระบือที่เริ่มหัดคิด

Nota Bene: my originality authenticated, because the most powerful search engine in cyberworld at the moment renders “vache qui rit”, “vache qui pisse”, and “vache qui pète”. Therefore “les vaches qui commencent a penser.” is truly mine (up to here and now).
